8x8 Work App Reviews

The app is running so slow as to be useless. You. cant. type. anything. without. a. long. delay. between. keystrokes. Sometimes it takes minutes to get the IM app to allow typing. (this is on an iPhone 6s). And if you go to another app and come back, it loses its place and you have to wait for another few minutes to get its attention again. Its too bad, it would be a pretty great app if it performed better. And it makes me crazy when you click on "app support" in the App Store and it takes you to a website that has nothing to say about the app at all.

Would like to be able to change our outgoing caller ID to one of our other virtual numbers through the app rather than having to log into web portal on desktop to make the change.

We subscribed to this phone service as a company with home based and traveling employees. The app is supposed to ring my phone every time we get a call and it only works sometimes. I dont know how many calls have been missed but its been too many. They clearly have some kinks to work out.

Dont try and use it on the NYC subway or whenever your data connection comes and goes. Even for IM, it freezes, reboots, coughs, complains whenever it does not have a rock solid connection. Not a "mobile" app. Otherwise this all seems generally more functional and integrated than the desktop software. One suggestion: Add a "quiet hours" feature to all the user to define hours when the phone should not beep on incoming messages etc. Such as when you are sitting at your desk next to the phone and computer. Maybe it is my older iPhone 4S, (iOS 8.4) but this is not a problem that I have on any other app. Tried hard reboot, closing other apps, clearing out storage space, no help. Phone calls occasionally drop a random word. Sometimes have difficulty connecting. Its too bad, it would be a great app if it performed better.

Major flaw: texts are not received from outside phone numbers when the app isnt open on your phone, resulting in frustrated clients.

The recent update broke texting and a few other things. I couldnt delete voicemail, etc. I had to delete and reinstall the the app and now everything is working fine. My assumption is the update wasnt coded correctly for an update but rather a clean install. If thats the case the instructions should let users know a reinstall is required. This update broke all our virtual apps for all our users.

I have been using the 8x8 app the past 3 weeks traveling in France, Italy and Greece and the voice quality is amazing with absolutely no latency!

Not too much of a resource hog. About 80% reliability when uploading voice data. Excellent professional tool. Allows our mobility to have a stationary presence. Love the new SMS feature. Great App!

8x8 has been a great app for me to use for business. It allows me to be mobile in a day in time where it is necessary. I am able to make calls very easily. I appreciate the convenience of the app. Receiving calls has been a problem sometimes when I answer, the person does not hear me at all. Or, if Im on my cell phone using my regular cell number, then I answer the 8x8 app on my cell, the person does not hear me. Another problem is that when Im on the 8x8 app on my cell phone and my regular number starts to ring, the person I am on the phone with is distracted by the constant buzzing of the call ringing. Please assist in updating the app so that distraction does not exist. This app is easy to use and I have recommended it to many to use for their business. I am pleased with it and I will always use it. Please assist with updating it so answering calls from the app on a cell phone does not have kinks anymore.

Its a shame, it could be good. But none of the features work

Works great Voice quality is amazing I like that one number coverage makes me accessible regardless of my devices

I really like this app. Repulsive pretty good it seems to stay connected during my calls and the conference call features are awesome. Still not good enough for my whole office to use it works great for me.

This app really works! Feels like working from the office from anywhere. Just needs to add Virtual Meeting capability.

Easy to make calls over LTE and WiFi, and they keep adding features.

The new update definitely improved the text messaging. I can now trust in texting my customers through the phone. I can still stay in touch with customers without having to provide my cell phone #. Its two phones in one pretty much.

Seems to work pretty good most of the time. Doesnt play too nice with lock screens however. Thumb access doesnt work and you have to use the PIN.

Theres still a couple small odd design choices but overall the app works excellent over cellular and network. People complaining about this app either havent opened the ports or dont have a decent smart phone.
